ADAMS, Eveline Rose: August 12, 1947  - September 29, 2023 {also on Delaney grave stone page}

 Eveline Rose (Pennington) (nee Delaney) Adams
   It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mom, Eveline Adams. She passed away after a short battle with cancer. She is now peacefully with our Lord and her family in heaven.
   Mom was born at Johanna’s Maternity Hospital in Sexsmith, AB, on August 12, 1947, approx. 15 minutes after her twin sister Irene. She grew up on a farm in the Kleskun Hills until she was 8 years old. The family moved into town after her daddy was killed in a tractor accident the year before. As Mom grew older, she found a love of sports including basketball, baseball, and figure skating.
   In her adult life, Mom wore many hats. She was a registered nurse in Grande Prairie, Edmonton, and Red Deer. She then moved onto sales and sold mobile homes in the late 70s and early 80s before our family ventured into owning other companies throughout Alberta. During this time, Mom found a passion for finance and excelled at it! She worked for the Scotia Bank for 20+ years and for HSBC until her retirement.
   Mom was also one of the original founding members of the Grande Prairie Christian School. She enjoyed giving to those in need, lending a hand where needed, cooking extra meals, or just spending time with people who needed it in her community.
   Mom instilled in us the importance of having faith, love, compassion, and understanding. We all have the ability to show love and compassion, and it costs nothing. This is what Mom would want us to do.
   Eveline is survived by her brother Raymond Delaney; son Michael Pennington; daughters Gwen (Dean) Robideau and Gayle Pennington; grandchildren Anthony Robideau, Lindsay (Marcus) Thompson, Morgan (Sean) Hamilton, and Brandon Lawrance; and great-grandchildren Alec and Xave Hamilton, and Elizabeth Delaney Thompson, the newest member of the family.
   Eveline was predeceased by her husband Mark Adams; parents Archie and Aagtje (Alice) Delaney; sisters June Delaney and Irene Riou; and her brother-in-law Joe Riou.
   A Celebration of Life for Eveline will be held in June 2024, at the Glen Leslie Cemetery. As more information is available, it will be added here.
   We wish to thank everyone who looked after our mom through homecare and hospice, and Dr. Angela Barreth.
   Memorial donations of items can be made to Points West Living Hospice, 11460 104 Ave, Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 3G9.
   Monetary memorial donations can be made to Grande Prairie Palliative Care Society.
